Admissions Process

We recognise that the choice of the right school for your son or daughter is of paramount importance and we seek to make the assessment process as friendly and enjoyable as possible for every prospective pupil.

The usual points of entry are during the Early Years (Pre-Reception or Reception), at Year 3 (age 7), at Year 7 (age 11) and at Year 9 (age 13). Applicants for admission should register by 31st December of the year preceding the desired year of admission. After 31st December, please contact the Registrar to find out about occasional places.

Admission to Belmont depends upon a prospective pupil meeting educational standards and demonstrating a willingness to contribute to the life of our busy School.  We offer places to only those children who we think will thrive.  There are certain educational standards required and these will be assessed through entrance tests, contributions during taster days, school reports and references, and discussions with the pupils and their parents.  Academic assessment will focus on verbal and non-verbal reasoning, English and Mathematical skills.  Find out more in our Admissions Policy here.

We very much hope that you and your child will visit Belmont. A number of Open Mornings are held throughout the year which give a general introduction to the School. Details of these are published on this website. We are also very happy to welcome prospective parents and their children at other times. Please contact the School’s Registrar on 01306 730852 or email admissions@belmont-school.org to arrange a visit.
