Physical Education

In the Sports department we are very keen to show that sport and being physically active is essential to leading a healthy life. We encourage pupils to enjoy their sport and fitness activities through physical education and games lessons, competitive fixtures and our “Sport for All” philosophy.

The aims of Physical Education

  • To encourage enthusiasm and a passion for physical activity.
  • To understand the contribution that physical activity and sport make to health, fitness and well-being.
  • To develop knowledge and understanding of the factors that underpin physical activity and sport and use this knowledge and understanding to improve performance.
  • To perform effectively in different physical activities by developing skills and techniques and selecting and using tactics and strategies.
