Belmont celebrates its 140th anniversary

07 May 2020

Established in 1880, Belmont celebrates its 140th anniversary this year.  We would like to dedicate this news article to our School, looking at what makes Belmont unique and why we are so proud of our School and all those that are part of it.  First, we celebrate Belmont from our parents’ point of view.  Here are just a selection of comments from parents when asked how they would describe Belmont.

The video below shows you Belmont through our pupils’ eyes and all the wonderful things they have experienced at school this year.

Celebrating Belmont School

Here is a message from an Old Belmontonian on the occasion of our 140th anniversary.  Our alumni have also sent us photos and memories of their time at Belmont.  See below the photos from Colin Worral who attended Belmont in 1964.  Visit our Old Belmontonian's Club page to read some of their memories of their time at school.

Finally, it is not just our pupils who enjoy coming to school.  Did you know that almost a third of our staff have worked at Belmont for ten years or more?  The whole school lives and breathes `Achievement through Happiness’.  Here’s why our staff enjoy working at Belmont.

We now look forward to the next 140 years of Belmont, beginning with a new exciting chapter in the School’s history as we expand to offer GCSEs.  We will welcome Year 9 in September and they will be the first cohort to sit GCSEs in 2023.
