Marc spent his formative years in Nottingham before studying English and his PGCE at the University of Worcester. His first appointment was as teacher of English at Liverpool College, and in 2004 Marc relocated to the South East. As Deputy Head at Dunottar School, he has been at the forefront of transitioning the school from a small all-girls school to a thriving co-educational establishment.
Upon accepting the role as Head of Belmont, Marc stated, “It is a privilege to be appointed as Head of Belmont School; the school looks after the whole student and is somewhere that pupils are able to be themselves, learn and improve. What was also clear, from the moment that I stepped onto the school grounds was that all those who have responsibility for looking after the students care greatly about them, which for me is an essential aspect of education. Schools should be all about engagement, enjoyment and success and Belmont can offer these in abundance. I am looking forward to getting to know the school and everyone associated with Belmont over the next few months."
Andrew Baker, Chair of Governors for Belmont School stated, “Throughout the recruitment process Marc impressed the assessment panel with his enthusiasm, his vision for the continued development of the school, his intelligence in posing questions back to us and his exceptional people skills. Marc stood head and shoulders above the other candidates in convincing us that he understands how to deliver Achievement Through Happiness for all pupils. Along with the other Governors, I very much look forward to welcoming Marc and his family into our very special Belmont community and taking Belmont School from strength to strength.”
