From September 2021 Belmont School will incorporate Moon Hall School’s building into its estate. The new building will be called `The Grove’, due to its location amongst the trees, and will be used as a base for Year 3 to 5 form rooms as well as a Junior Library, ICT room, staff offices and a meeting space. The Grove is situated between The Mews, where Belmont’s youngest pupils from Pre-Reception to Year 2 are based, and the main school buildings of Feldemore and the Theatre block.
The move comes following Moon Hall’s announcement in November 2020 that it would relocate all its pupils from its current location at Belmont School to consolidate its operations at its main site at Reigate. It also coincides with Belmont’s expansion in age range to 16+ years, alongside its significant building programme including the new Aquileon Building for senior pupils.
Both schools are working together to ensure the amicable end of the long-standing agreement between them, enabling each school to realise its own strategic developments for the future.
The Boards of Governors of both schools are delighted by the opportunities that this move affords. With growing pupil numbers for both Belmont School and for Moon Hall School, the plan releases much needed space at Belmont and enables Moon Hall to consolidate onto its own single site.
