Year 5 and 6 pupils enjoyed a Senior Taster Experience where they completed a carousel of activities they can look forward to in the Senior School.
Pupils had great fun learning about Photography in a pop-up photo booth. Our GCSE students were on hand to teach them about using the lighting effectively along with how to take a good photograph and the younger pupils had a great time dressing up, using props and being in front of the camera as well as behind it!
In Science, they walked around some "wow" experiments in the Laboratory looking at insects in intricate detail through a microscope, seeing the different colours produced in a flame test, watching a dynamic demonstration of a soundwave with the Ruben's tube and learning about electrostatic generation through the Van De Graaff generator.
Outside on the South Lawn, pupils found out more about our Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme through a practical session. With our Year 10 pupils help, they made hot chocolate on trangias. They were able to question our Seniors about the different elements of the Scheme and about other outdoor activities they do in the Senior School, for example, Sailing.
Finally, the Prep School pupils had an introduction to Spanish. Mrs Evans played word games with them and they also were able to try delicious torta.
