Children in Year 2 have been learning about the work of our Doctors and Nurses with a visit from Nurse Laura. She is in charge of a busy A&E Department at Watford General Hospital. The children asked her questions about her role, responsibilities and experiences in her work. Laura then showed the children bandaging skills and first aid hints, including the recovery position. Everyone had a great, fun afternoon. The whole class went home with some sort of ‘pretend’ injury, which initially worried parents at collection time!
Year 2 children also welcomed Dr. Sam Spavin to the classroom who kindly gave up her time to chat about her work and role as a doctor in a hospital. We had some lovely practical activities and particularly enjoyed the interactive T shirt. What fun!
